Foreclosures and Default Notices Drop in Sonoma County

The number of Sonoma County homeowners entering the formal foreclosure process has dropped to its lowest level in nearly five years. DataQuick, A San Diego-based real estate information service, reports that 698 homeowners received notices of default in the first quarter of the year. Best first-quarter home sales for Sonoma County in seven years

Sonoma County started 2012 with the largest number of home sales in seven years, though strong demand isn’t yet translating into higher median prices. The county recorded 1,146 single-family home sales in the first quarter, according to The Press Democrat’s monthly housing report compiled by Pacific Union International Vice President Rick Laws.
