The average monthly rent in Sonoma County dipped 2 percent to $1,163 in the first quarter of the year, according to a report released Thursday by RealFacts.
The county’s rental occupancy rate was 94.9 percent, an increase of .7 percent over the first three months of 2009.
In comparison, the nation’s average monthly rent fell 3.5 percent to $943. The occupancy rate stayed flat at 91.4 percent.
RealFacts reported that the average rent nationally did rise 1 percent on a quarter-to-quarter comparison. Average rents were $932 in the fourth quarter of 2009.
