Sonoma residents have called this two-story craftsman home the “mystery house.” Built in 1910, the home has been vacant and boarded up for more than three decades.
The home was listed in January for $1,495,000. An offer was made in February.
The buyer, Sonoma Valley resident and retired Dobly Laboratories CEO Bill Jasper, lives next door. His property surrounds the home on three sides.
“It’s been an eyesore for 35 years,” Jasper said. “I bought it in order to fix it up.”
Jasper said he will take a year to plan the restoration, and another year to complete the work. When finished, he initially wants to rent the residence.
The seller’s agents were Avram Goldman of Pacific Union International and Michael Freethy of McGuire Real Estate. The buyer’s agent was Mary Szykowny of Century 21 Wine Country.
