Crossbrook Apartments in Rohnert Park are extremely close to the SMART station and have 8 units available (Image via Crossbrook Apartments/Sack Properties)

The SMART trains are coming soon, I can’t wait! Yesterday, I had a trip in my car that covered three different North Bay cities where I spent around four hours (total) in traffic. Halfway through my day I couldn’t stop thinking about how the trains will have wine and Wi-Fi readily available during the ride, and how much more enjoyable that would have been.

We’ve already covered nearby homes for sale, but there are rentals located around these stations that are also worth taking a look at.

Here are some of the latest rentals available near proposed SMART stations;

Petaluma North

1506 Mauro Pietro Dr, Petaluma – $3,600/month
4 beds, 3 baths, 2,237 square feet.

If you have three other co-workers/friends that you can have as roommates (without getting frustrated with them after three months…) the four of you would pay around $900/month – giving everyone a chance to save some money that year.

All of the images for this home show space: an open floor plan, sizable rooms, and big backyard. I would hope that would be plenty of room for four people.

Healdsburg

403 Matheson St APT C, Healdsburg – $2,550/month
2 beds 1 bath 1,000 square feet.

This apartment complex looks tidy and well maintained. The listing states that “lease term, furnishings and pets may be negotiable.” While it may be pricey, it sounds like they’re flexible.

504 Matheson St APT 1, Healdsburg – $1,600/month
1 bed, 1 bath, 650 square feet.

On the same road as the previous listing is a one-bedroom unit that’s not as modern, but still looks well taken care of. It’s in the process of being updated, and the $1000/month savings may make a difference to the budget conscious.

Windsor

9816 Berry Ln, Windsor – $2,950/month
3 beds, 2.5 baths, 1,669 square feet.

This home was built in 2015, and a gardening service is included in the rent. That being said, it’s not very close to the planned SMART station (by a long shot), but it is the closest rental currently available; so if you’re set on living in Windsor this may be the best choice.

Santa Rosa North

1511 Guerneville Rd, Santa Rosa – $1,750/month
2 beds 1 bath 810 square feet.

This is a ground floor condominium in a 4-plex that includes a pool, a commons area, and is within walking distance to the SMART station. It’s also right next to Coddingtown mall, so if you like to shop, make sure you can keep on a budget before moving in. (I, for one, would be in HUGE trouble…)

Though built in 1971, this condo is in great shape. The hardwood floors don’t appear scuffed or marked up.

Santa Rosa Downtown

436 Trowbridge St, Santa Rosa – $1,850/month
2 beds, 1 bath, 860 square feet

This house is part of a set; the one at 438 is identical to this one, and also for rent – though for a bit more because it’s bigger. It’s about 6 or 8 blocks away from the station, but still walkable.

This home has been well maintained, and though there’s no garage or carport, the yard has plenty of space for parking.

Rohnert Park

Crossbrook Apartments – 655 Enterprise Dr, Rohnert Park – $1,914 to $2,066/month

This apartment complex is extremely close to the SMART station and has 8 units available. They allow dogs and cats, and there’s a shared laundry along with covered parking – basic apartment amenities.

Of course, the basic amenities are always better when a pool is involved. This is one of the nicer pools I’ve seen at an apartment community, and that may make it worth a closer look to quite a few renters.

Cotati

8264 Windmill Farms Dr, Cotati – $2,000/month

This Windmill Farms community shows up every single time I write about Cotati – but they’ve got the good location thing covered. As the listing notes, this rental is “located near Sonoma State University, Rancho Cotati Shopping Center (including Oliver’s Market and Starbuck’s), and SMART Train station.”
