2016 is (thankfully) officially over, but as we settle in 2017, let’s take just one more look at what happened on the real estate side of things.
Generally, we look at some of the most extravagant listings at least once a week just to get a look at what a dream home looks like in real life. These homes always seem to defy what the everyday person could afford, and I’ve always wondered if they ever sell.
It turns out that the answer is both yes and no. They do sell, but usually not for the full asking price. That being said, most of these houses are truly spectacular, and it’s worth taking a look at what they sold for in 2016. Here’s a shortlist of the 11 most expensive homes sold in Sonoma County towards the end of 2016:
3736 Wood Valley Rd., Sonoma – SOLD: $11,500,000
4 beds, 9 baths, 6,840 square feet. Sold on: 11/14/16.
While over 11 million may seem like too much for what this house is, it should be noted that it sits on a 16-acre lot. A homebuyer interested in a vineyard, farming, or livestock would be happy with this deal.
8507 Mill Station Rd, Sebastopol – SOLD: $9,825,000
3 beds, 2 baths, 2,192 square feet. Sold on: 11/08/16.
This is two homes on about 8 acres with a shared driveway. This means that there’s plenty of room for extended family, or to use as a rental.
410 Matheson St, Healdsburg – SOLD: $5,500,000
7 beds, 9 baths, 6,458 square feet. Sold on: 03/25/16.
