Santa Rosa has been in the news yet again as one of the nation’s hottest housing markets, ranked as number 17 in the country in the month of May. I may be biased, but I have to say that I can see why: the weather is beautiful, the residents are friendly, there are some of the best farm-to-table restaurants, and it’s located right in the heart of wine country.

And while the median price is still a bit steep, at $625,000 it’s still more affordable than many well-developed areas in California (I’m looking at you San Francisco).
After going through the most recent listings, and even searching for what’s now available under the current median range, it’s looking pretty good.

There’s no house on this list that’s a ‘fixer-upper’, and nothing that’s located in an ‘undesirable’ neighborhood. Whether you’re looking for a home for your family, or as a starter home with your partner with the idea of maybe, possibly, down-the-line starting one of your own, these houses might be worth a look.
