Many Sonoma County home listings have a similar thread running through them: space to entertain, extra rooms for guests, or a sizable dining room to host dinners in. This sounds nice, but it doesn’t take into account those homebuyers who may not want to entertain, or who view their home as a private space where they can escape the expectations of socializing.
This doesn’t mean that these home buyers against having company over, but if they work close to downtown, or commute to a city, they may not want to be bothered when they’re done with work for the day. When people claim their home is their castle, they mean it.
Usually having a home that promises an escape from the everyday means that it has a price tag which reflects a mountain location (hefty), but they’re not all out of reach. While some of the homes on this list veer close to unaffordable for the average home buyer, they’re always nice to look at.
