Currently, it’s a seller’s market in Santa Rosa, with demand outstripping supply when it comes to housing.

This market has frustrated many potential buyers who’ve found themselves priced out, and many have decided to stay in the rental market for now.

The current median rental for a 2 bedroom apartment in Santa Rosa is $2140. Because searching for a new place in this cold, rainy weather is bad enough, I’ve tried to help by gathering 8 currently available 2 bedroom apartment listings that are around this price (give or take a few hundred dollars) to start the search with:

Shadow Creek, 4145 Shadow Ln, Santa Rosa – 2,329/Month

This is a well-maintained building with on-site management available 7 days a week. If you’re moving to a 2 bedroom with your family, the amenities here may offer peace of mind.

Speaking of amenities, there’s a pool with plenty of space to lounge and watch the kids play during the hot Santa Rosa summers.

The Overlook at Fountaingrove, 200 Bicentennial Way, Santa Rosa – $2,419/Month

On the higher end of the median is a 2 bedroom in this Tuscan inspired apartment complex.

The apartments here are newer, and the models are tastefully decorated. Interestingly, they DO allow pets – dogs and cats both – even large dogs. Whenever I see something this clean, I always assume that deposit would be forfeit the second I let my cat step foot near anything he could claw.

The Alexandar , 750 Apple Creek Ln, Santa Rosa – $1,979/Month

On the lower side of the median are the available 2 bedroom apartments at the Alexandar. This complex also allows animals, though there’s a two pet maximum.

This complex also offers a pool, which also has plenty of room for lounging and watching the kids play. At this point it’s a choice of if you want the newer, Tuscan style building or don;t mind one that’s a bit more dated.

The kitchen has granite countertops and new appliances. For a family who eats together, this kitchen will do nicely.

And, if you need to work off all those home-cooked meals, the complex has a yoga studio. (Honestly, I actually don’t know if Yoga burns calories as much as spin class does, but I bet any of it will do.)

701 Mission Blvd APT 2, Santa Rosa – $1,700/Month

This 740 square foot, 2 bedroom apartment is located in the Rincon Valley, so though it’s older, it’s in a great area.

This isn’t my favorite layout for an apartment, (kind of dark, looks smaller than it is), but it’s a ground floor apartment so it’s to be unexpected.

Prospect Place, 1024 Prospect Ave, Santa Rosa – $1,850/Month

However, if a sunny upper apartment is your thing, Prospect Park has two apartments available – located right near Howarth Park (always a win if you have kids.)

It’s hard to be descriptive about empty rooms, but the good here is that it’s easy to tell that there’s no major damage, the floors look fairly new, and the closets are roomy. For $1,850 for a two-bedroom, it could certainly be worse.

2329 Chanate Road 2329 #10, Santa Rosa – $2,150/Month

I had to choose between showing the exterior or showing the kitchen.  The kitchen won. I’m a fan of well-placed archways, and this apartment does not disappoint.

Though not showcasing an archway from this vantage point, the hardwood flooring is easily seen and clearly well maintained.
