When looking at high-end homes, there’s generally ann expectation that the architecture will adhere to exacting standards, and generally be built with fancy amenities such as a wine cellar or heated pool.

To be fair, this house does include these niceties, but it’s what the previous owners have added to the 42 acres of property it sits on that make it unique. Surrounded by oaks and old growth manzanitas is an outdoor kitchen, a well-appointed guest studio, and a…yurt? Beehives? Meditation circle?

There’s a lot going on throughout these acres, and frankly, some of it I couldn’t quite figure out. A potential homeowner who has the means to buy a 4.5M home – while also having a good sense of humor – may find that this is just the whimsical retreat they’ve been looking for.
