The majority of new home buyers expect to have a few renovations and updating they’ll need to do when buying an older home. Besides the obvious ones that need to be done – such as updating the plumbing or electrical – a lot of interior work is usually done as well to make a home more ‘modern’ looking.

But there are homebuyers out there who have a retro aesthetic, and now that vintage trends have become popular again (think Mad Men and MidCentury Modern or the ‘Painted Ladies’ of the Victorian era) there are sellers who may find that grandma’s house, which she never updated, are now a draw for some potential buyers.

Of course, there are also just some homes that come on the market that homeowners never had the time or interest in updating that can be brought back to their original look with minimal work. While I didn’t find any perfectly maintained home that would fit into the time capsule category, per se, these four homes from the 1930s through 1960s would be excellent starting points.
